I'm likely to install Limesurvey, but I think something specific for events would be neat.
I would setup Indico but it seems like that's more for organizations, and it wouldn't allow us to do what we want effectively.

liquidfeedback.com is one I have seen used, this is geared to political parties but can be used for private polls as well
formbricks.com describes themselves as Qualtics alternative, this looks good I have not tried it, this includes a improvement survey feature for software projects
framadate is suspended, i am not sure if that would affect use of it that much, they apparently are not developing new features
yakforms is a fork of framaforms (not sure how that relates to framadate) which is actively supported
nextcloud also has a polls app, not sure if that is available directly, maybe that would be an option as well
there are also tools that support scheduling polls for appointments and meetings, i have not used any of those (I have used Doodle, which is not open source)
